Frog Tales

The Malabar frog — also known as the bicoloured frog (Clinotarsus curtipes) — is a resident of the Western Ghats of India. It is usually found in the streams and leaf litter.

It has a dual toned body – a pale brown, tan, or yellowish-orange upper back peppered with small black spots, with contrasting deep black or dark grey flanks and limbs.

This solitary gentleman was spotted by me as I was walking along the banks of the Kabini river in Karapura, Karnataka.
